Common Causes & Fixes

1. Failed exhaust mist filter (No.1 fault)

    

   Cause: Saturated, cracked filter; double O‑ring poor sealing.

    

   Solution: Remove old O‑ring residue; install new filter correctly.

2. Pump oil problem  

    

   Cause: Over‑filled / low oil level; wrong or degraded oil.

    

   Solution: Set oil level to sight‑glass midpoint; drain and refill with correct Busch vacuum oil.
3. Ingested water / solvent vapors

    

   Cause: Moisture or liquid enters pump, emulsifies oil.

    

   Solution: Open gas ballast; fit inlet moisture trap; change contaminated oil & filter.
4. Pump overheating

    

   Cause: Dirty cooling fins, faulty fan, poor ventilation, overload.

    

   Solution: Clean cooling parts; ensure air flow; avoid overload running.
5. Faulty oil‑return check valve

    

   Cause: Valve stuck open, oil cannot flow back.

    

   Solution: Clean or replace check valve.
6. Internal wear (smoke + abnormal noise)

    

   Cause: Worn vanes, bearings, metal friction.

    

   Solution: Shut down pump; inspect and replace worn components by technician.

• Short smoke on startup: normal
